For a while I was wondering what looked weird in the picture, and then I realized that the walls and floor were all smooth. Seeing as I had layer upon interminable layer of blue shading/pattern/etc, I didn't really want to go into that breach and try to make the walls look like stone or whatever, so hey. Hades has smooth walls.
The story, to skimp on details: Psyche was a most beautiful Greek woman, whose beauty many said rivaled that of Aphrodite. Aphrodite did not appreciate this comparison and sent her son Eros down to sprinkle salt water over Psyche and poke her with a lead arrow while she slept so that she would be forever unlucky in love. But as he was busying himself with doing just that, Eros was surprised by a sudden sleepy twitch by Psyche and poked himself with one of his golden arrows, and fell promptly in love with her. Eventually he brought her to live with him, but told her to never ask him any personal questions. But Psyche, having been told by an oracle that she would marry a monster, finally gave in to curiosity and snuck up on Eros as he slept to see what it was she had married. He of course woke up and, crestfallen, had to leave. Psyche, desperate to have her love back, went straight to Aphrodite who set a few tasks upon her. The last task was to get some of Persephone's beauty to restore Aphrodite's, as the goddess of love was fatigued. Little does Psyche know at this point that, to the Queen of Hades, the most beautiful thing is death... (and so she opens the box, and dies, but Eros comes and saves her with a kiss and IT'SSOROMAAAAANTIC! Aaaaaw! (=_)
